Youth Event – A Day of Faith, Fun, and Fellowship
By the grace of God, our recent Sts Anargyroi Youth Event was truly a day to remember! 🎉 On 12th December 2024, our vibrant youth gathered in fellowship, uniting for a day rich with spiritual growth, joyous activities, and the sharing of Orthodox teachings. It was an occasion to deepen our faith and strengthen our bonds as a community, and we are deeply grateful to have experienced it together.
The event brought together hearts eager to grow closer to Christ, while embracing moments of connection, laughter, and meaningful conversation. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength of our Orthodox family, as each activity, discussion, and interaction reflected our shared commitment to Christ and one another.
Event Highlights:
🙏 Spiritual Growth – We were blessed with inspiring lessons from Fr. Paul, whose reflections on Orthodox teachings nourished our souls and guided us toward a deeper spiritual understanding. Additionally, we attended evening Vespers, engaging in liturgical participation that allowed us to deepen our connection and reverence for God.
🎲 Activities – The day was filled with engaging outdoor and indoor activities designed to build community while having fun:
- Outdoor activities: From the sack race and interactive mind games to football, handball, and darts, the youth embraced friendly competition and teamwork in the spirit of joy.
- Indoor activities: Orthodox trivia, along with board games like Kenya at 50 and card games, offered moments of playful learning and bonding, with the wisdom of the Church woven into each activity.
💬 Fellowship & Sharing – The event also provided a space for open sharing, where the youth offered encouragement and wisdom from their personal journeys of faith. The ladies, in particular, came together to learn the art of crocheting hats, fostering a unique bond and sisterhood rooted in love and support.
Youth Q&A Session: A special moment of reflection and learning took place during the Q&A session with our beloved Fr. Paul, where the youth had the opportunity to engage on contemporary issues affecting them in today’s world. This discussion opened hearts and minds, offering guidance from the wisdom of the Church.
